My Story
In 2020, when the world shut down, I decided that it was time to make my dreams of being a writer a reality. As the mother of a transgender child and a queer person myself, I became fascinated with LGBTQ history, specifically Berlin in the 1920s. My characters from my debut novel Give My Love to Berlin were born from researching Germany prior to the rise of Hitler and the Nazi Regime. The vibrant communities and chosen families of Berlin when it was the gay capitol of the world serve as a reminder that LGBTQ people have always existed and thrived despite the obstacles they face and that these communities will continue to thrive no matter what is thrown their way.
When not researching for my current works-in-progress (of which there are probably too many), I enjoy volunteering at the local humane society, working with the local chapter of Free Mom Hugs, somehow find time to homeschool four children, and enjoying watching Twilight while eating cheesecake.
